Trucking Management Software

Ruckit, Inc. introduces the construction industry’s first collaborative logistics platform designed for bulk materials producers, trucking companies, and general contractors, specifically addressing the unique needs of the trillion-dollar bulk materials transportation industry. Ruckit’s platform includes a free mobile app for iOS and Android devices that enables companies to efficiently dispatch, manage and track in real-time all trucks for a job, regardless of whether the truck is company-owned, leased-on or third-party. Its revolutionary bring-your-own-device platform approach requires no data plans or hardware in trucks to make them Ruckit-ready and delivers supply chain optimization to a fragmented construction industry, where 80 percent of the drivers are independent hired-haulers.

In development for 3 years, the Ruckit platform digitizes construction workflows, which allows technology like artificial intelligence to be layered into the program to increase material movement efficiency and eliminate waste. Real-time route tracking allows dispatchers and construction managers to receive personalized trucking recommendations to improve loading/unloading times, optimize haul routes and make more informed dispatching decisions. Operations implementing the powerful logistics tool have realized up to one extra load per truck per day.

“Two of the top five bulk materials producers are using the Ruckit platform and are in various stages of rolling it out nation-wide, and one has already reported a 5 percent improvement in truck utilization,” explains Kyle Kinsel, Ruckit co-founder and CEO. “Higher utilization leads to truck drivers being paid more, fewer trucks on the road and lower transportation costs, which account for approximately 20 percent of the total cost of construction.”

Ruckit was built to allow companies to invite everyone in their network to collaborate on one platform. The flexible cloud-based platform and free driver app works well for the three segments of the bulk materials transportation market —material producers, general contractors and trucking companies—and on every type of truck regardless of whether it is owned, leased-on, or third-party.

Ruckit is easy to use with minimal training. With flexible options like dispatching by the load or job, dispatchers can work quickly with all trucks on one platform and a mobile app, where they can dispatch from the field or home. The driver app uses GPS to receive loading and unloading locations right from the device, without speaking to dispatch. Drivers can capture tickets in their mobile device and send them digitally to the office for processing, reducing lost or misplaced tickets, improving load reporting accuracy and reducing paperwork time for drivers and accounting.

At the jobsite, Ruckit’s mobile platform allows field supervisors to request material deliveries from across the network. The mobile app alleviates phone calls, texts and emails to dispatch by allowing managers to see the real-time location and status of the truck on a map, ensuring on-time material delivery, minimizing truck wait-time and improving truck utilization.

Ruckit creates an easy platform for end-users and gets all companies in one network for collaboration. Its biggest value for companies comes from the data that is available from the digital transportation ecosystem, where Ruckit leverages machine learning and artificial intelligence to suggest changes that result in dramatic improvements in business operations.

By analyzing their trucking data, companies can improve many segments of their business. Ruckit helped a national aggregate producer uncover increased truck wait times at one of their plants during certain times of the day, which allowed managers to make changes and improve loading efficiency. “One of the first trucking companies to use Ruckit grew by 400 percent in their first year on the platform,” said Kinsel. “Those are the types of business results that we want to facilitate with Ruckit.”

Founded in 2015, Ruckit has partnered with some of the largest dirt, aggregate and construction companies in the United States to increase efficiency by connecting resources, eliminating unnecessary delays and maximizing resources. In 2017, Ruckit launched the nation’s first cloud-based, fully collaborative, telematics and logistics platform in the heavy materials space. The suite of products includes a web-based platform, iOS and Android applications. The solution connects disparate data and processes allowing operators to manage owned and third-party haulers concurrently. The Ruckit system collaboratively handles dump truck operator’s job sharing, dispatching, e-ticketing, tracking, statusing, and invoicing on a single platform.
