The American Concrete Institute (ACI) will conduct multiple public seminars on ACI CODE-318-25 and ACI CODE-562-25 throughout November 2025. The seminars, “ACI 318-25: Changes to the Concrete Design Standard” and “ACI 562-25: Assessment, Repair, and Rehabilitation of Existing Concrete Structures—Code Requirements and Commentary,” will be held at multiple locations throughout the United States.
ACI 318-25: Changes to the Concrete Design Standard: This seminar will cover the significant changes in the 2025 edition of ACI 318, “Building Code for Structural Concrete Code Requirements and Commentary.” This is the first edition of ACI 318 in six years. All significant changes in this edition of the code will be presented and discussed. This includes changes centered around the topics of the addition of post-installed reinforcing bars, anchorage of closely spaced bars, clarified and updated one-way shear provisions, clarified and expanded seismic requirements, the new sustainability and resilience appendix, the new performance-based wind design appendix, and numerous other changes. The seminar will be presented by several industry-leading experts.
ACI 562-25: Assessment, Repair, and Rehabilitation of Existing Concrete Structures: This seminar will introduce ACI 562-25, “Assessment, Repair, and Rehabilitation of Existing Concrete Structures—Code Requirements and Commentary.” The latest version of the Code includes numerous updates, three new chapters, and a new appendix. The companion guide provides expanded information and project examples to assist users in interpreting and applying the provisions. This seminar will be presented by David G. Tepke, PE, of SKA Consulting Engineers, Inc., FACI, and Khaled Nahlawi, PhD, PE, Distinguished Engineer of the American Concrete Institute.

HOT WEATHER CONCRETING RESOURCES
ACI announces a robust suite of resources to ensure contractors and professionals are well-equipped to overcome the challenges of hot weather concreting. Significant risks are possible to the quality and durability of concrete structures during hot weather concreting. High temperatures, rapid evaporation, and increased risk of cracking can compromise structural integrity, requiring contractors to be prepared in advance to mitigate these effects.
ACI provides a range of specialized resources designed to help professionals achieve superior results when working in hot weather. Publications like ACI PRC-305-20 Guide to Hot Weather Concreting provide critical recommendations on planning, placement and curing techniques for maintaining concrete quality. ACI also delivers on-demand courses and webinars, ensuring access to high-quality training tailored to environmental challenges. Available to everyone, ACI’s free online education presentations focus on specific topics in hot weather concreting.
