The five-part series explores key topics from ASME B30.27, Material Placement Systems, a critical standard that, when followed, ensures safer operations across the industry.
Produced by ACPA and Advancing Organizational Excellence (AOE), a leading consulting firm in the AEC industry, each episode delivers practical safety insights and expert perspectives that help make concrete pump job sites safer for everyone. The podcast features conversations with industry leaders, safety experts, and ASME B30.27 committee members as they share their real-world experiences and strategies for creating safer job sites.
In the premiere episode, host Janice Clines sits down with Christi Collins, executive director of the ACPA, to discuss the We Are Safer Together safety campaign. “We Are Safer Together” brings heightened awareness of ASME B30.27, the safety standard for material placement systems—which, when followed, elevates safety on concrete pump job sites. The campaign highlights the roles and responsibilities of each trade working with or around a concrete pump under the standard. The ultimate goal is to reduce accidents and injuries through education, awareness, and collaboration.
The safety campaign’s success relies on the active participation of trade associations, concrete contractors, material suppliers, and other stakeholders. Coalition members include the American Society of Concrete Contractors (ASCC), Concrete Foundations Association (CFA), National Ready Mixed Concrete Association (NRMCA), Tilt-Up Concrete Association (TCA) and World of Concrete.
