RoboClean evaluation results.

KCI, a 100-percent employee-owned engineering, construction, and consulting firm, showcases RoboClean and RoboFlat solutions for concrete floor flatness and levelness analysis at World of Concrete 2026.

RoboClean and RoboFlat are KCI’s true cloud-based solutions designed to streamline concrete floor evaluation for robotic facilities which require ultra flat floors built precisely to specification. Following the scan of a facility, RoboClean automatically removes floor artifacts and classified noise from scanned point cloud data prior to analysis. RoboFlat then enables the rapid processing of massive datasets generated from large facility floors without tying up local system resources or requiring expensive hardware. By leveraging high-computing performance, RoboFlat analyzes the entire floor surface at once, reshaping a process that traditionally takes days and breaking it down to hours.

Beyond speed and automation, RoboFlat delivers accurate, detailed, and advanced outputs that support decision-making across all stakeholders. The platform generates customized reports in addition to Excel and DXF files for use in CAD applications, clearly showing the exact location of floor failures along with floor flatness, levelness, and curvature heat maps. Additional outputs include cut and fill values, surface complexity, and deviation imagery that provide a comprehensive understanding of floor performance.

BUILDING TO SPEC

“Our goal with RoboClean and RoboFlat is to streamline floor flatness evaluation while giving project teams confidence that their robotic facilities are being constructed to spec,” says Jeanne Ruthloff, KCI’s technology sector president. “By combining automation with high-performance cloud computing, we’re helping teams dramatically reduce processing time without sacrificing accuracy or detail.”

The KCI booth at World of Concrete guides visitors through the complete RoboClean and RoboFlat workflow, from data capture to final analysis. The booth is organized into three interactive stations that demonstrate how concrete floor data is first captured using a 3D laser scanner, then automatically cleaned using RoboClean, and finally analyzed in RoboFlat. Together, these tools simplify what has traditionally been a time-consuming and fragmented process for evaluating large industrial floors. This approach allows owners, contractors, and facility teams to move faster while maintaining a high level of confidence in the results.
