Go behind the scenes of the construction of Brookfield Zoo Chicago’s James & Elizabeth Bramsen Tropical Forests.

For nearly two years, EarthCam documented Pepper Construction’s transformation of this $66 million, nearly three-acre primate habitat, one of the country’s largest and most advanced. The project features immersive indoor and outdoor environments for gorillas, orangutans, and spider monkeys, complete with naturalistic climbing structures and expansive viewing areas.

It also includes new conservation spaces like the Gorilla Conservation Center and the rooftop King Conservation Leadership Academy.
